No negócio, US$ 1,65 bilhão será pago pelos ativos de rocha fosfática e fosfatados da BPI, subsidiária da multinacional no País. E US$ 2,15 bilhões se referem às ações detidas diretamente e indiretamente pela BPI na Fosfertil, informa a companhia. A transação foi antecipada horas antes do anúncio pelo colunista do iG Guilherme Barros.<br> &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;"Esta operação é de fundamental importância para a consolidação da estratégia da Vale em focar o Brasil como o grande mercado para sua produção de fosfatados, tendo em vista o potencial das minas locais, bem como o crescimento associados aos projetos desenvolvidos no exterior, como Bayóvar e, no futuro, Evate, todos com produção prioritariamente destinada ao mercado brasileiro", afirmou o presidente da mineradora, Roger Agnelli, por meio de nota à imprensa. Em fosfato, a Vale detém os projetos Bayóvar I e II, no Peru, e Evate, em Moçambique.<br> &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;A compra devolve a Fosfértil para a Vale, que vendeu para a Bunge sua participação na empresa em 2003 por R$ 240 milhões. Na ocasião, a operação envolveu 3.955.293.931 ações ordinárias e 7.910.587.866 ações preferenciais, totalizando 11,12% do capital total dessa empresa.<br> &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;A estratégia atual da Vale é se tornar líder do País em fertilizantes, mercado crucial na cadeia produtiva de um dos segmentos que mais crescem no Brasil e no mundo: o setor de alimentos. A empresa já vem adquirindo áreas de pesquisa e exploração de insumos de fertilizantes desde meados da década. No ano passado, adquiriu da Rio Tinto dépositos de potássio por US$ 850 milhões.<br> &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Potássio e fosfato são os principais insumos necessários à produção de fertilizantes, que também leva componentes como nitrogênio e hidrogênio.<br> A Vale já possui uma mina de potássio no Brasil, a Taquari-Vassouras. E há também outros três projetos em desenvolvimento no País. <br> &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; O desenvolvimento de nossos projetos e a aquisição do portfólio de ativos de fertilizantes permitirão que a Vale se torne num dos principais produtores de fertilizantes do mundo nos próximos sete anos, com uma produção estimada de 3,3 Mt de ácido fosfórico e 10,7 Mt de potássio , informa a companhia em comunicado ao mercado.<br> &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Segundo a Vale, a BPI, que acaba de ser negociada pela empresa, é a segunda maior produtora de fertilizantes fosfatados no Brasil. Com duas minas de rocha fosfática (em Araxá, em Minas Gerais, e Cajati, em São Paulo) fornece 14,2% do consumo total do País.<br> &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Além das operações de mineração, os ativos que serão comprados pela Vale da Bunge envolvem quatro plantas de processamento para a produção de fertilizantes fosfatados localizadas em São Paulo e Minas Gerais. De janeiro a novembro, foram exportadas 707 mil toneladas de frutas, no mesmo período do ano passado foram 811 mil toneladas. Em 2009, o valor total do comércio internacional de frutos deve girar em torno dos US$ 561 milhões.<br> &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;De acordo com Moacyr Saraiva Fernandes, presidente do Ibraf, essa redução de mais de 10% no volume de exportação é decorrente de diversos fatores, "mercados deprimidos, preços baixos e divergências climáticas nas regiões Sul, Sudeste e Nordeste, além da decisão dos importadores em reduzir os contratos, foram alguns dos responsáveis pelo cenário que é visto hoje."<br> &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;O clima prejudicou algumas culturas nesse ano, a região Nordeste foi a mais afetada e, consequentemente, as produções de banana, manga, abacaxi e uva sofreram quedas na exportação.<br> &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Já com a crise econômica, houve uma retração de compra por parte dos importadores, além de cortes nos financiamentos para as operações pré-embarque de muitos exportadores. Outro fator financeiro responsável por essa quebra na exportação foi a valorização do real com relação ao dólar, "com a valorização de 25%, desde janeiro de 2009, muitos exportadores reduziram as vendas externas e focaram no mercado interno, que se apresentou mais lucrativo", analisa Fernandes.<br> &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;A pauta de exportações de frutas processadas também fechará em queda este ano, impulsionada pelo suco de laranja congelado, que teve uma redução 41% até novembro comparado com o mesmo período do ano anterior. Para o presidente do Ibraf "a dificuldade maior para as exportações de suco de laranja refere-se a queda de consumo mundial de cerca de 17% no período de 2001 a 2009, e também a grande concorrência de bebidas de frutas inovadoras".<br> &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Para 2010 a expectativa é por uma recuperação na demanda por parte dos países desenvolvidos. "A Europa e os Estados Unidos são os principais destinos das frutas brasileiras, com a recuperação da economia acreditamos que a busca pelos produtos deve voltar a crescer", ressalta Fernandes. Os frutos desta iniciativa, podem ser percebidos nos resultados das exportações: em 1998 foram exportadas 296 mil toneladas de frutas frescas, já em 2008, o volume saltou para 888 mil toneladas.
